Explore how Trang’s journey—rooted in science and healing her relationship with food—inspired her to bring Lagree to Vietnam and redefine wellness as balance and resilience.
In the ever-evolving world of wellness, some journeys are driven by personal transformation, others by a quest to make a meaningful impact. For Trang, the founder of Lagree Vietnam, it was a combination of both. From experiencing her own struggles with health and nutrition to discovering the revolutionary Lagree Method, her path has been anything but conventional.
Based in Ho Chi Minh City’s Thao Dien district, her story reflects the resilience and curiosity of a "Woman in Science," whose determination has led her to introduce an innovative fitness method to Vietnam. Along the way, she overcame skepticism and cultural barriers, always guided by her belief in evidence-based wellness. This article highlights her inspiring journey, showing how her scientific mindset and entrepreneurial spirit are reshaping the future of fitness in Vietnam.
But before building a movement, Trang had to begin with herself.
Trang’s wellness journey began in her childhood, where she was always active and curious, constantly exploring new sports and activities. However, alongside her enthusiasm for physical challenges, she struggled in her relationship with food and self-image. This led to an obsession with dieting and counting calories—habits that gradually took a toll on her physical and mental health.
It wasn’t until university that Trang fully recognized the impact of these struggles. That moment of self-awareness marked a turning point. She met a nutritionist who helped her see food differently—not as something to fear or control, but as a tool for healing. Guided by this holistic perspective, Trang rejected quick fixes like birth control and chose a path of nourishment through food-based healing.
"This experience solidified my understanding that nutrition isn’t about dieting—it’s about nourishing both the body and the mind," she reflects.
Although she had developed a growing interest in nutrition, old habits die hard. Influenced by years of calorie-counting and societal standards around body image, Trang continued with a pescatarian diet supported by supplements. But after moving to Vietnam, she began experiencing fainting spells. Despite her efforts, her body wasn’t getting the fuel it needed. Reintroducing meat into her meals became a major breakthrough. She regained her energy and strength, realizing that health isn’t about restriction—it’s about balance. "My body was telling me what it needed," she says. "I just had to listen."
It was during this ongoing journey of self-healing that Trang discovered the Lagree Method—introduced to her by her sister. Captivated by its low-impact, high-intensity design, she found that Lagree complemented her holistic wellness philosophy. It made her feel empowered and strong. But when she realized the method didn’t exist in Vietnam, one question stuck in her mind: "Why isn’t Lagree here?" This question became the spark for her mission to bring Lagree to Vietnam—where fitness could be both powerful and nurturing, where well-being isn’t just about looking good, but feeling good from the inside out.
In order to turn that vision into reality, Trang would require more than conviction—it meant challenging an entire culture's definition of health.
This mission, however, was not without obstacles. Bringing Lagree to Vietnam was never about following a trend—it was about challenging perceptions. In a country where the fitness culture is still developing and heavily influenced by aesthetics, Trang knew she had to do more than open a studio—she had to open minds.
"Fitness is about nourishment, balance, and mental well-being—not just being slim," she explains. Guided by this conviction, she set out to shift the focus from external appearances to internal strength and resilience.
Trang faced skepticism, financial pressures, and moments of self-doubt. But her personal transformation had prepared her. She believed that the Vietnamese market—especially the younger generation—was ready for a more holistic approach. "Maybe not for the older generation, but definitely for our generation and the ones to come," she says. "More and more people in Vietnam are becoming aware of the importance of wellness and health, and I truly believe they will embrace a space like this."
As her message found resonance, especially among young professionals and wellness seekers, the foundations of a new community began to form. With every conversation, trial class, and shared story, Lagree Vietnam began to stand not only as a fitness destination—but as a symbol of change. And with change taking root, Trang began shaping a future where wellness would no longer be a trend—but a lasting lifestyle.
For Trang, building Lagree Vietnam was never just about bringing another fitness brand here, it was about influencing and improving the way people think about health. “The Studio in Thao Dien is just the beginning,” she says—not as a grand statement, but as a quiet belief that Vietnam is ready for something more meaningful than trends.
In her mind, a wellness space isn’t just a place to sweat. It’s where people return to themselves - their cores; where they come to strengthen what’s already inside, and reconnect with the balance they’ve always needed. She envisions Lagree studios as sanctuaries—where strength, recovery, and mindfulness meet in one rhythm. “Wellness,” she explains, “should feel like something you live—not something you chase.”
This clarity didn’t come from textbooks or boardrooms, it came from lived experience. From the moments when her own health felt uncertain, to the quiet breakthroughs that shaped her roots, Trang’s belief in science isn’t separate from compassion—it’s informed by it.
Today, she stands not only as a founder, but as a woman in science creating space for others—especially young women—to explore bold ideas in health and leadership. And while she has faith in what Lagree Vietnam will spark, she’s even more committed to what’s next: Growing a movement that helps others live stronger, and more in tune with the best version of themselves.
Because for Trang, this has never been about building a brand. It’s about nurturing a legacy.
What began as one woman’s search for strength and healing has grown into a movement redefining wellness in Vietnam. Through Lagree Vietnam, she’s not just opening a studio—she’s opening doors for others to explore their strength, find their balance, and build a life rooted in health from the inside out.
This is just the beginning. Lagree Vietnam is here to walk with you, every step of the way.
